ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct analysis of policies, strategies, programs and projects to support evidence-based decision making in Agri-value chains;
- Ensure public investment is focused on key sector needs/bottlenecks to catalyse private sector investments
- Support crop and animal value chain actors to comply with market norms, standards and regulations;
- Monitor local and regional food prices;
- Undertake public-private dialogue and coordinate agriculture value chain platforms in collaboration with relevant institutions in the sector;
- Estimate agro-processors’ raw materials need based on existing utilization capacities on specific value chains;
- Develop short & long-term interventions to address identified crops & animal value chain bottlenecks;
- Collaborate with RCA in cooperative development and capacity building of cooperatives and farmer organizations in crop value chains;
- Collect data on supply and demand factors including production and aggregation volumes, price trends and consumptions, imports and exports.
